This was painted in 1952 while I was studying painting and portrait painting at age 14 under the well known English portrait artist W.W. Stephens and was among my first. Mr. Stephens worked on the mountains in the painting to show me how it's done. He taught me how to paint in a smooth classical style using linseed oil as the only medium in a dry on wet process. I often use this method today. It hangs in our home and is not for sale.
