This painting is the result of an unusual sighting in the sky over north Toronto while walking my St. Bernard late one night. I used to walk him and look at the sky every night. The six lights in the formation of a cross are what I saw.  They flew right over us and in fact went out of their way to do so. It left me wondering and so I decided to paint what I saw. I even painted the phosphorous glow that the lights gave off and was surprised that I could do it.  I changed the setting from the city to the far north and painted the reflection of the lights in the water.  It was painted in the summer of 1975.
