This was painted around 1951
when I was 13 and is among my first paintings. At the time I painted only
landscapes and was studying drawing and landscape painting under a professional
landscape painter, William Carson in Port Hope, Ontario, where I grew up.
These old paintings are still
in mint condition, a testimonial to the durability of oil paint and linseed
oil. There has been no yellowing and no fading.
